Leading position in industrial metrology with 3D scanner Atos Q

Keeping up with the latest technological achievements and methodology on the world market which enable having more quality and efficiency in doing business, Inmold company opted to purchase the latest industrial 3D metrology device. By purchasing the Atos Q 3D scanner, produced by the German company GOM, a member of Zeiss group, Inmold has become the only company in Serbia to own such a highly-sophisticated device.

With the function of conducting complex measuring and inspection activities, the 3D scanner Atos Q is intended for providing complete service of analyzing plastic and metal parts for our customers. At the same time, this device will find its application in reverse engineering of parts and molds which come to our company for service and reparation.

The 3D scanning technology includes three different methods of collecting data during the scanning process, which is achieved by using two cameras and a projector, together modeled into a powerful yet compact system. The right side and the left side camera are in charge of collecting accurate information about the surface, in places where the camera beams intersect, and the projector is used as a calibrated unit in measuring, so it is in charge of projecting thin light beams. This part of the industrial metrology process (Triple Scan) along with using the Blue Light technology makes the core of the 3D scanner functioning, which we now use to enrich the performances of our production process.

By using the Blue Light technology, that is, by projecting light from a narrow-range blue frequency which filters ambient light during the scanning process, we receive the most precise measuring results at an extraordinary measuring speed.

With our new device with exchangeable lenses we will be able to conduct highly-accurate measuring of parts of small and medium dimensions, which will enable the products treated with Atos Q 3D scanner to meet the most demanding technological standards.
